yesterday i got a few spare hours away from the conference i’m at to sneak away to spend some fun time in texas. luckily my mom, sister in law and mother in law came along on this trip so naturally we went to waco. we were 1.5 hours away from it how could we not!?! i got to go about 2 years ago and was anxious to go back and see how it changed. my pal liz has gone a few times since then and has been telling me about all the exciting things so i was anxious to get back.
let me tell you it did not disappoint. i felt the same things as i felt last time. that even though this store is big and it’s full of decor you could see and feel that chip and jo had a hand in everything there. the little notes and touches all over the store made it so personable and it felt like they could walk in at any moment. being a store owner myself i know that the goal is to make your customers feel something when they walk in. i would say the thing i felt the most at magnolia was “hospitality” the staff was friendly and welcoming, eager to help with whatever you needed.
we went late in the afternoon and easily could walk around, no crowds. the food trucks were out, the lawn was open and the new gardens and seed supply store was open. it was the cutest thing ever. i honestly could have spent the entire afternoon studying the gardens. it was messy just until you realized it wasn’t. does that make sense? each path had a pattern and a plan but the shurbs and herbs were allowed to grow wild and free. it was really beautiful. i would love to open a little garden store some day. we walked around there shopping about two hours before heading out. we didn’t have a ton of time to explore waco this time but it was amazing driving in and out and seeing how much more the town has grown.
i loved walking around taking in all of the displays and notes and new products. i didn’t buy a ton because a lot of the product we carry similar styles at the found cottage but i bought a magnolia mug, sweatshirt and this really cute carved wooden pot from the silos. from the seed store i bought this cute little magnolia pot and a garden hat. it was truly a great experience and if you get the chance to go i would say it is definitely worth the trip.
I would sure love to go to Waco, but Minnesota is a long way away!! Changing the subject, I haven’t seen that your last ewe had her babe yet. Just wondering, are you sure she’s really pregnant?
We are still waiting! We had an ultrasound on her with the rest of them and have confirmation she is pregnant. The sheep breeding season is about two months so she could just be really late.
My near future goal is to take the long drive up north to a place called The Found Cottage. I would be so excited if all my favorites could be in the store on that same day so I could meet them…. ~Kim
Ahhhh!! I finally got to visit Waco this weekend and it was everything I thought it would be. It’s amazing!! I loved looking at the pics in this post because it brings me right back there. 😀
