favorite valentine looks

Style & Fashion

when i was in high school i was a bit…extra. i think that is what the kids these days would call it. I remember valentines day my sophomore year of high school being highly influenced by legally blonde and clueless. on valentines day i wore a red and pink houndstooth pencil skirt from forever 21, pink cardigan with a script A on the shoulder and white patent leather knee high boots from wet seal. isn’t it funny how certain outfits stick in your brain? i got made fun of by some of the upper class girls (who I still remember and shall remain nameless) but I just remember feeling festive and pretty. I loved having my own style. I loved thrifting and color and i would obsess over the new delias catalog every time it arrived. who else here misses the delia catalog!?! man they just don’t make good catalogs like they used to! i’m getting a bit too nostalgic over here.

now that i’m a bit (ahem) older and no longer wandering the halls of high school i have traded in my patent white boots from a nice simple sneaker or flat. but that doesn’t mean i don’t like to be a bit festive around valentines day. like i said in my previous post, joe and i keep it simple. we stay home and make a big dinner so being comfy is key. since valentines is on a thursday i’ll be at work so i plan on dressing the part. here are some of my more “grown up” valentines day looks.

i just ordered this dress from KJP.com. i love the way that their clothing is made. it’s USA and it’s amazing quality. I have a few of their sweaters and sweatshirts and they are worth every single penny. I do find that the shifts tend to run a bit short so I always size up to a Large. I think this would be so cute with a pair of tights and a slight heel.

i’m also obsessing over the latest valentines collection by show me your mumu. they made the leopard coat i adore so much. i’m also secretly obsessed with hannah g from the bachelor and she is their model for february and she is adorable!

what are your plans for valentines day? are you a go out or stay in kinda gal?

I prefer to stay in, I hate going out in the winter. That could be the reason why my husband made plans for us this year. He is a keeper.
