Casual Free People Party Dress

Style & Fashion

December 30, 2014

so once upon a time i bought this dress that was sparkly. i bought it (shamefully) at a black friday sale circa 2013. i had to have it. i just didn’t know what to wear it with. (broke rule 101) (i break most budget rules). the poor dress, she hung in my closet for a full year before inspiration finally struck. ALAS! pair it with a large oversized sweater to dress it down for work! i thought the overlapping texture of the sweater would add a nice casual element to the dress (while still totally ok to wear to a party).

i purchased this free people sweater over a year ago as well from jbandme and i seriously wear it with almost everything. it’s the perfect sweater for layering like this. i also paired it with some super thick tights, a free people fringe scarf oh and of course those mtng boots.

have you ever purchased that sparkly party dress only to let it hang in shame in your closet? how did you finally end up wearing it?

shoutout to my friend annette for not only meeting me for lunch but for taking these pics. be sure to check out her photography page!
