My Favorite Places for Antique and Handmade Online

House & Home

May 21, 2020

Last Memorial day weekend was all about cookouts, cottages and flea markets. This year will most likely be spent at home with my family hopefully enjoying some nice weather and the garden. We have been so busy around the farm getting ahead of all our projects during this time at home and weather permitting it will continue right up and through the weekend.

Just because we can’t leisurely wander the aisles of flea markets like we used to, doesn’t mean we still cannot find quality handmade and vintage. So many of my vendor friends have launched their websites, etsy stores, curbside pick ups and more and I’m so proud of how quickly they’ve been able to pivot their businesses.

For me, the pandemic made The Found Cottage get organized and launch their website. We’ve had so much fun loading new vintage finds from our personal collections every week. We are so grateful for your support and are busy getting the store ready to open back up. Hopefully June 1 pending the governors stay at home order is adjusted. It’s so important to support local pickers and makers as their spring shows were canceled and now their summer shows are starting to be canceled. Shows make up a large portion of peoples yearly sales and it’s tough right now. If you are in the mood for antiquing, seek out your favorite vendors and have their treasures shipped right to your door!

Here are some of my favorite handmade and vintage places to shop online right now.

All the Beautiful Linen – I just received my ruffled front apron that I ordered a week or so ago and it is stunning. The crisp linen and ruffle detail is stunning. I ordered mine in white and i’m already contemplating what other colors I want.

Dreamy White Lifestyle – I am OBSESSED with following her on Instagram and her shop is so so dreamy. Her photography style highlights the french antiques that she curates to sell online. I have been lusting after the french bread boards.

The Cotton Shed –  Dear friends of mine and the found cottage they have an incredible eye for displaying antique and vintage items. They have been doing awesome instagram sales on their page but you have to be fast! I can’t wait to have them back at the shop. This is where I buy some of my favorite unique pieces of ironstone.

Dannie and Lilou – I have a bunch of items ready to go in my cart I just can’t decide on colors. I am thinking of this romper and these overalls for otto as right now he is very in to taking his pants off so attached clothing helps with that.

Warehouse 55 – Mark is another great friend and shop owner. I am so excited that he is going to have a booth space in our shop when we are able to reopen. He ships from his store if you cannot make it there in person. Here is my full post about his beautiful shop!

Like Mother Like Daughter Vintage – The best time to visit LMLD is when you are having a bad day because there is no way you would leave without it being completely turned around. Their positive energy is contagious and they have an amazing eye for antique and vintage. (also they are going to be having a space at The Found Cottage!) I bought one of my favorite garden pieces from them, a large white urn and I am actually going to plant in it this weekend.

Not Perfect Linen – I live in this dress. We still have a few pieces at the shop but I have pieces now that are two – three summers old. They are my favorite for wearing out into the garden because they are loose and cool fitting and wash up brand new each time.

These are just a few of my favorites and I have so many more that I will keep sharing. In the meantime my friend Liz also wrote a great post about her antique favorites. Check it out here.
