Sequin Joggers for Girls Night

Outfit: Sequin Joggers, Anthro (SALE) , Sweater, Jcrew, Brooch, Chanel

There are a lot of firsts happening this month and it seems weird to plan girls nights and activities based on case counts courtesy of the pandemic but, we finally were able to get together for a girls night. Joe and I (as well as Ashley and Shawn) have been really picky lately about where we go out to eat. I mean, we should have been looking at restaurants sanitation guidelines long before a pandemic but there are a few places going above and beyond to prevent covid spread as much as they can.

We have about 3 places on rotation and one of them is reserve. We go there… a lot. It’s the perfect spot for happy hour but also dinner and they have an amazing wine list and the experts to walk you through which one is best for you. We also will visit Tupelo Honey and Mertens Prime. BTW Mertens Prime, formerly New Hotel Mertens, just re opened with all of their protections in place and the new menu is FANTASTIC. The Paris Poutine is incredible and the steaks are some of the best we’ve ever had. Worth checking out.

The thing about going out and getting together is you never know when you’re going to be able to do it again. Nothing can be planned too far in advance. Hence it was time to bust out these sequin joggers. Guys, there are a few left and they are on clearance right now for $35! They run large. I’m wearing a Petite Medium.  I would size down as they do stretch as well a bit. The pro is that they are lined with an almost sweat pant / legging material but the the con is the sequins by your thighs tend to stick together. Unless you have that coveted thigh gap just be warned you might loose a few sequins here and there but buying them on super clearance (originally almost $200!) helps ease the pain of the loss.

Sequins do not have to be reserved for special occasions. I wore this outfit to the office all day but toned it down with a chunky knit sweater from J.crew and one of my favorite  brooches that I got for Christmas last year (similar here) . (I’m a sucker for brooches). I think it’s because necklaces that are too heavy hurt my neck throughout the day so a brooch provides the same pizazz without having to wear it around my neck.

We enjoyed an awesome dinner together and each ordered different bottles of wine so we could do a little table tasting. It was good to just relax and catch up with each other. Even though the three of us typically work on work things together it was nice to just talk about random fun things.

Go snag yourself some sequin clearance pants! (no pun intended) and have a safe little girls night.

More fun places to visit here.
