Let’s talk about this Kate Spade Tweed Coat for a minute shall we? I had been off of the Kate Spade site for a few months or so and when I saw my pal Ashley wearing it I fell in love with it. The next big sale I snagged one for myself and found out also that the Kate Spade coat was also purchased by my mom. It’s a universally good jacket that is perfect for fall (and also still on sale). It does run a little big so I took a medium rather than a large (i’m typically between a m/l in Kate Spade jackets).
I was not a fan of the previous creative director and I deeply miss the Deborah Lloyd design years because I felt she held true to the whimsy and feminine Kate Spade Style. When the creative director was hired out of Michael Kors the style of the brand tended to shift more towards that particular pattern, color and style. She was even quoted as saying she was going to ban bows at Kate Spade. Perhaps that’s why I took such an absence from the brand? The collection with Anna Kendrick was one of the last few collections where I wanted almost all of the pieces. The Miss Adventure advertising campaign was by far one of my favorites. This fall, winter and holiday collections are starting to emulate that a bit more with the leopard and plaids and thank goodness, bows.
I love doing this little photo sessions with Ashley when we both style a piece. We also conceptualize it so differently and I thought it was so funny that we both chose a form of small print black and white to contrast with the coat.
We decided to get dressed up for a photo shoot because we will be co hosting a private Kate Spade shopping event on September 9 from 8pm – 9pm at the Kate Spade in Tanger Outlets in Byron Center. The shop will be offering an additional 10% off on top of the in store discounts and a free gift with a $150 purchase for the first ten shoppers. They will also be serving snacks and sips while we shop and launching the new fall collection! They are also pulling in from other boutiques to have a great selection for shoppers during the party. If you are coming feel free to shoot one of us your size and we can let them know you are coming.
Some of my favorite pieces lately have come from Kate Spade and the outlet at Tanger in Byron Center. The striped dress I wore in Chicago for my nieces 16th birthday came from the first installment of the fall collection as well as this cute pink and white polka dot handbag that also functions as a crossbody.
